Iran is NO Threat & Professor Noam Chomsky

As many of you know, one of my personal heroes is MIT professor Noam Chomsky. What I love about Professor Chomsky, is his devotion to historical clarity, and the way in which he uses that clarity to brilliantly comment on almost any topic. Try going on YouTube and typing "Noam Chomsky on _______" and fill in the blank with almost any topic from pornography, to 9/11 Conspiracy Theories.

I have found his political theories extremely revelatory. Of course, like any philosopher, I am not in 100% agreement with him, but I do enjoy the fact that I am intellectually blown away, usually after a mere 10 minute or less YouTube clip.

As Western nations seemingly gear up for war with Iran, building straw men and fabricating fear, people often ignore their history, and look only to the present for the knowledge of their conflict causes and solutions. The United States will continue to try to dominate and impose its will on sovereign countries.

I hope that one day this will end - for in the trail of one nation attempting to play god, lay millions of dead civilians.

I think if governments listened to people like Noam Chomsky, there would be a lot less death in the world. I would highly recommend you watch the video below to put in perspective the recent rhetoric by some of the GOP candidates regarding Iran. Please understand, that I am no way ignorant of the human rights atrocities happening in Iran, but I do believe that sanctions cause suffering, and suffering causes anger, and anger causes hate, and hate causes wars.



I know, I know, his voice sometimes puts me to sleep too - go and grab some coffee and dive into some Chomsky!

My Response to "Why I Am a Six-Day Creationist" by Tim Challies

A friend of mine recently started a pretty huge debate regarding evolution on his facebook page. I normally try to stay out of these debates because I find them quite frankly, irrelevant to the Christian faith. There was a time when I spent a lot of time reading and researching the different views, but as I've gotten older, they've seemed like a side show to the gospel. I am quite aware of the claims by certain fundamentalist that if you reject a literal creation, you somehow undermine the entire truth of scripture. I've sat through several Ken Ham lectures, and read lots of books on creationism, and this is certainly an all or nothing, black or white claim I find extremely frustrating. I'm pretty sure I've been a Christian my entire life. I'm not really sure when I really became a Christian. I don't really remember making a decision to follow Jesus Christ in a single moment in time. I remember being taught things, understanding them to make sense in the sphere of human reality, and believing in them. As a teenager I was baptized, which is the closest thing I personally have to the start of my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. There has been tension within my faith ever since.
